Gir National Park
It is the last remaining bastion of the Asiatic Lion. It also has the highest population of Leopards compared to any other national park, making it one of the best places in India to see the Big Cats. The Kamleshwar dam in the middle of the sanctuary is home to a record population of marsh crocodiles. Other wildlife includes Chital (spotted dear), Nilgai (blue bull), Wild boar, Jackals, Hyenas, etc. Gir National Park also has over 300 different varieties of birds.
Diu
The golden expanse of nature's best blessings:
The island of Diu is the blissful confluence of silver sands and the golden sun. You can’t miss the tiny district of Daman & Diu, especially because of its fabulous architecture and laid back lifestyle. Situated off the southern tip of the Saurashtra (Kathiawad) peninsula of Gujarat and lapped by the Arabian Sea, Diu is a picturesque island for those in quest of a blessed land. It’s replete with majestic beaches, whitewashed fishing cottages and excellent roads for you to ride along the coast with the wind blowing in your hair.
Diu Fort
The majestic sentinel overlooking the sea:
Offering a kaleidoscopic view of Diu, the majestic Portuguese fort with its double moat was built in 1535 as a defence alliance forged between Bahadur Shah and the
Portuguese when the Mughal Emperor, Humayun, waged war to annex this territory. Flaunting an array of cannons, the ramparts of this magnificent fort stand testimony to its once impregnable stature. Skirted by the sea on three sides, a magnificent lighthouse stands on the fort.
St Pauls's Church
A melange of architectural brilliance and incomparable faith
Located in the city of Diu, the more than 400 years old St. Paul’s Church, is a major tourist attraction. Considered one of the best examples of baroque architecture in India, the church is dedicated to “Our Lady of Immaculate Conception”. It is the largest functioning church in Diu catering to the small Christian community of about 250 persons.
Naida Caves
The haunting beauty of mysterious caves waiting to be explored
Located outside the city wall of the Diu Fort, these striking caves have an intriguing network of unexplored square hewn hollows and steps. It is believed that the Portuguese during their reign hacked building materials from these caves.
Nagoa Beach
Unwind in the pristine beaches that offer tranquillity and peace.
Located in the Nagoa village, the beach is exceptionally beautiful and quiet. In this horseshoe shaped beach, various water sport facilities are available.
